Dan Grading For Arya
Arya Zale (DEN AK) was recently presented her Shodan, achieved after meeting all requirements on 10 June.
She is now living in Western Australia and training at the South West Judo Academy in Perth, which is run by Sensei Simon Reid (who is also the President of Judo Australia).
Arya travels a considerable distance to attend training as she lives about 1.5 hours south of Perth!
She was unaware that the presentation was to be made as it was arranged in secrecy and livestreamed to her friends and club members at Denjo Judo in Kerikeri.
Therefore she was very surprised and somewhat emotional at the presentation.
Well done to all who were involved in arranging this pleasant surprise for Arya, and congratulations to a dedicated judoka.
