“do or not do - there is no try”
Lance Wicks Graduates with Judo Degree
Monday, 10 August 2009 11:23
New Zealand judoka Lance Wicks recently graduated with an Honours Degree in Sports Performance from the University of Bath in the UK. The conclusion of the five year study course also saw him obtain a European Judo Union Elite Performance Coach Award - Level 5.

Lance was required as part of the degree to undertake a research project and chose as his subject
an investigation of “Attack Rate as a predictor of victory at the Beijing Olympics”. This was an extension of a study he did at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

The research project has now been accepted as a poster presentation at the International Judo Research Symposium to be held in Rotterdam prior to the World Championships.

Lance lives in the UK with his wife and two children.

I am sure you will join with me in congratulating Lance on his academic achievements.
