“do or not do - there is no try”
Christchurch National Training Camp
Wednesday, 23 March 2016 18:05

Held at Lincoln University in Canterbury, the Waitangi Weekend 2016 National Camp was well attended with 85 members training during the weekend.  Presenting a talk on ‘what it takes to win’ our Patron  Rob Waddell gave up his precious time to spend with our athletes.  Talking about his own challenges and road to success this was a great start to a very challenging weekend organised by Rob Levy and his team.

Five judo training sessions along with an early morning run in less than 48 hours tested our athletes both physically and  mentally.

Brent Cooper, Graeme Spinks, Jason King and Jason Koster helped break up the extreme ‘toiling’ with technical sessions.  Comfortable accommodation with each athlete having their own dormitory room along with hot meals in the university cafeteria also helped the athletes to recover between sessions before returning home no doubt feeling very tired and sore. Congratulations to the Canterbury Area team who hosted, organised, and subsidised this successful event.
