“do or not do - there is no try”
NZL Success At Pan-Pacific Masters
Monday, 17 November 2014 18:26

After their recent success at the National Kata Championships in Christchurch, Alan Hoverd (BUD WN) and Colin Berry (BUD WN)competed with success at the 9th Pan Pacific Masters Games held in the Gold Coast from 1- 9 November.

The pair won gold in both Ju-no-Kata and Katame-no-kata, while Alan also picked up an additional silver, pairing up with Australian Jennifer Beaton for Ju-no-Kata after her partner got injured in the morning's Shiai.

Alan said that the Ju no Kata result was particularly pleasing as it was also mentioned by a number of the senior players competing, to have been the standout Kata of all those performed on the day.

Judo was just one of the over 40 sports for those over 30 years old. With over 14,000 competitors from more than 30 countries spread across all disciplines it’s the largest Masters Games worldwide.

Congratulations to Alan and Colin for a tremendous result.
