Earthquake Update
Wednesday, 02 March 2011 11:54

To date we have had no reports of injury to any of our members, which is great news! Communication remains difficult for many, but we hope that "no news is good news"!

We have had some reports of damage to dojos, and no doubt to members' property.

The Kata Seminar scheduled for 12-13 March has been postponed due to further damage to the venue. We will advise rescheduled details in due course.

A decision regarding the hosting of the Nationals in Christchurch will be made within the next 2 weeks. Anyone booking airfares at this time should take out cancellation insurance in case the event needs to be transferred to another city.

Messages of support and condolences from around the world continue to arrive - attached is an e-mail received from the President of the All Japan Judo Federation and the Kodokan Institute, and an offer including free entry to Judo Queensland events from their President.

Our thoughts continue to be with all our judo family in the Canterbury Area during these challenging times.
