JNZ are proud to announce that Darcina Manuel (GIS EC) has been selected to represent NZL at the upcoming Rio Olympics in the Women's -57kg category.

Darcina obtained NZ's first judo medal of the 2014 Commonwealth Games with a bronze in the same category. She recently won the OJU title and has produced some strong international performances leading up to selection.

Currently based in Perth, Darcina is off to a week long training camp in Spain and a competition in Slovakia before returning to Perth prior to heading up to Rio.

The NZOC announcement of her selection can be found at;

Attached is a recent interview with Darcina.

JNZ wishes Darcina all the very best for her build up and performance in Rio.
