Monday, 24 December 2012 09:05

The Board of JNZ is pleased to announce the approval of the first stage of funding in support of the Fight for Gold project that will lead to New Zealanders winning medals at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.

In the first stage, a total of $10,000 is available to be shared among players who are strong prospects for Glasgow.

Individual grants are likely to be $1000 per player. These funds are to be used to support off shore training between now and the OJU Championships in Cairns in April 2013.All players who believe they are strong prospects for Glasgow and are interested in applying for a grant should declare their interest to their respective Senior Coach - Rob Levy for men, and Naomi Spinks for women.

The applications should detail when and where the training will take place and should be received  before the 7th of January 2013.

Naomi and Rob will review all applications and make their recommendations to High Performance Director (Tim Slyfield) and JNZ President (Dave Browne) who will make the final decision.
