NZL added two more titles on Day 2 of the OJU Championships. Anton Hammond (NJC AK) won the CM-81 category, and Liam Closey (NJC AK) took the CM-55 title.

Despite a much smaller team at this years event (25 players), NZL finished with a total of 26 medals (5 gold, 7 silver, and 14 bronze).

In the teams events, the NZL Womens team with only 4 players instead of 5 lost the final to Australia 2-3. The Mens team won both matches against French Polynesia and an OJU selection (all 5 players winning by ippon in both times), and then were reduced to 4 players for the final against Australia, again losing a close battle 2-3.
