“do or not do - there is no try”
OJU World Cup - Day 2
Monday, 15 November 2010 14:23

The second day of the OJU World Cup saw NZL take more medals. Mahana Clutha (CAN CA) took silver in the -63 category, Alister Leat (JNH AK) -66, and Moira De Villiers (NJC AK) -70 gaining bronze.

This took the NZL total to 2 silver and 4 bronze at this World Cup, along with valuable world ranking points for Olympic selection.

In addition to the podium finishes, today saw 4 players in bronze finals - Leat -66, Lee Bronkhorst (MET WB) -60, Sean Choi (MET WB) -73, and Lee Calder (WJA AK) -73. Unfortunately, only Alister was able to convert the opportunity to take a medal.

The 7 players in action today achieved a silver, 2 bronze, 3 x 5th, and a 7th place.

Most of the team are now staying to attend the training camp lead by 2 times Olympic medallist Nicholas Gill from Canada.

Congratulations once again to the entire team.
